If you only spend a few days a year in your boat on Grand our affordable rates are worth every penny! With towing rates averaging $250 per hour the average tow is $600 per incident. It’s better to pay a little now rather than get stuck with an enormous bill later.  Our membership is only $58 a year. All you need to do is present your membership card to the TowboatU.S. Captain and your payment is taken care of, up to the service level you select.

Wade Silzer and Tom Benton have many years of experience in the marine industry...

Tom Benton operates a Marine Survey business and has been associated with the marine industry for well over thirty years with previous experience in Tulsa and on Lake Keystone. Benton owned and operated Boats, Etc in South Tulsa back in the late 1980’s. He was also a service manager at Pier 51 Marina on Lake Keystone prior to opening Boats, Etc.

Wade Silzer, along with his wife Paula, who is widely recognized as an outstanding photographer and operates Paula Silzer Photography, are the owners of the Captain’s Corner and Rebel Marine. Both operations cater to servicing, restoring and storage of watercraft ranging from rowboats to cruisers. Silzer’s parents had him on the water of Grand Lake at the tender age of three weeks and his first job in the business was that of dock boy at Port Tyler, now known as Cedar Port marina, in 1973.

As with many businesses on Grand Lake, the idea for bringing a tow boat operation to Grand Lake was born during a casual conversation as the two business operators watched a boat being towed in to a local marina. That unlikely conversation got the ball rolling. After a trip to Lake of the Ozarks for a first-hand look at the TowBoatU.S. Operation there, and visiting with area marinas and the Grand River Dam Authority, the decision was reached to bring a similar operation to Grand Lake. There were obstacles like permits, adequate insurance, equipping two boats to the specifications of BoatU.S. and some legal and contractual hurdles, but the operation is now good-to-go for the 2012 boating season on Grand Lake.
