hird Annual Big Bass Ca$h Fishing Tournament Set for August 4-5 on Grand Lake

Presented by Grand Lake Casino, the two-day tournament will award more than $60,000 in cash and prizes, including a fully rigged Ranger bass boat.

Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees is arguably the best destination for bass fishing in Oklahoma and plays host to a number of fishing tournaments, including world-class level contestants.

One fishing tournament that is quickly growing in popularity is Big Bass Ca$h, an annual event presented by Grand Lake Casino that is open to all anglers age 18 and over.

This two-day big bass event allows bass anglers of all skill levels to compete in a professionally-organized tournament on the same waters where some of the biggest names in the sport have tried their luck.

“This is the third year for this exciting promotion at Grand Lake Casino,” said Grand Lake Casino General Manager Dusty Logan. “Grand Lake is well-known as one of the most popular bass fishing lakes in America, but we hope our Big Bass Ca$h tournament will expand the sport even further and bring more new anglers to our lake by making great prizes available to all fishermen, regardless of their skill level.”

The third annual Big Bass Ca$h fishing tournament is set for Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5. The first cast each day will be at 6 a.m.

Big Bass Ca$h will feature more than $60,000 in guaranteed cash and prizes, including 80 cash prize winners. In addition, all tournament participants will be entered in a random drawing for the grand prize — a fully rigged 2018 Ranger fiberglass bass boat. The grand prize also includes a matching Ranger Trail Trailer and Evinrude outboard motor.

This unique prize twist means that, even if they don’t catch a single fish, contestants have a chance to take home the grand prize just by entering the Big Bass Ca$h fishing tournament.

All entries received on or before July 23, will receive double entries (up to four per entry) for the grand prize drawing. The early entry fee for one day is $125 and $200 for two days. The entry fee for entries received after July 23 is $140 for one day, $220 for two days.

The tournament will have four official bi-hourly weigh-in time slots each day:  6-8 a.m., 8-10 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m. All fish retained and not weighed must be released by 2 p.m. Boats must be off the water by 8 p.m. each night. Weigh-ins will be held at Wolf Creek Park and Sunset at Bernice Point Resort.

The top 10 fish weighed in during each bi-hourly segment will win a cash prize. The first place fish in each segment will be worth $1,000.

A mandatory registration and angler check-in will be held from 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Grand Lake Casino. On-site registration will be available at the Wolf Creek boat ramp on both Saturday and Sunday morning.

Saturday’s hourly payouts will be awarded beginning at 6 p.m. at Grand Lake Casino. The final awards ceremony and the drawing for the grand prize Ranger boat, plus other great prizes, will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday on the Venue 655 stage at Grand Lake Casino. You must be present to win.

Kistler Custom Fishing Rods is offering a special promotion in conjunction with Big Bass Ca$h. All tournament contestants have the option of purchasing up to four Kistler Magnesium 2 fishing rods (valued at $200) for $120 each. The Kistler rods can be purchased online while registering for the tournament and picked up at the mandatory registration and angler check-in on Friday, Aug. 3.
