Final weekend of April at Shangri-La

We in the stretch run toward May as we sweep into the final weekend of April at Shangri-La! We were privileged to host the South Central Section PGA Team Championship and Senior Team Championship Tournaments earlier this week. We are always honored when our peers in the PGA select our course for their championship tournament competition.
 
Monday brings some big changes to Shangri-La. The Summit Restaurant and Buffalo Bar will “go private” on Monday, offering full food & beverage service exclusively to Shangri-La Members, the guests who accompany them, and our guests at the resort. In honor of this great change, Chef Michael will introduce an all-new Spring/Summer Menu at the Summit on Monday. We also begin 7-day-a-week operations Monday on the golf course, as well as the Summit Restaurant, Buffalo Bar, and marina. Next week, on Friday, May 5, the all-new Eddy’s Lakeside Bar will open at the marina (at the former Island Joe’s site) for weekend service Friday-Sunday from 11:00 a.m.
 
This weekend, we are privileged to host the Melton, Bolton, Pratt and the Gagalore Golf Groups. Monday, the Women’s Golf Association will be on the course for the first Grand Lady Qualifier play day. The format will be Low Gross/Low Net/Pro Drive.
 
We also want to welcome executives from Sonic. We appreciate Shangri-La member and Sonic CEO Cliff Hudson bringing this great group to spend a week with us each year. They’ll join us starting Tuesday next week.
 
It’s a good sports weekend in the Buffalo Bar too, of course, with full coverage of the Zurich Classic from New Orleans beginning at 2:00 Thursday & Friday, and 12:00 on Saturday & Sunday.  We’ll have NBA Playoff action, too, Thursday-Sunday. NASCAR drivers are running in Richmond this week in the Toyota 400. We’ll have coverage Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
