Memorial Day Holiday Weekend fun is underway at Shangri-La

The Memorial Day Holiday Weekend fun is underway at Shangri-La – and there is certainly no shortage of activity. We realize the holiday crowds and tight schedules make lunch a tricky option sometimes, so we will have several options this weekend.  In the Summit Restaurant, a breakfast mini-buffet will be available Saturday & Sunday from 8:00-11:00 a.m. for $10 (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, hash browns); and a Sandwich Bar ($13) with a terrific lunch selection will be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00-2:00 in the Buffalo Bar and Summit Restaurant.  Monday morning, we will also offer our traditional “Holiday Farewell Buffet” featuring breakfast items (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, fruits, and breads) from 8:00-10:00 a.m. ($10) and both breakfast and lunch offerings (including smoked brisket, BBQ chicken, corn, potatoes, cream gravy & desserts) from 10:00-2:00 ($15).
 
Friday is the “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race (5:00 p.m).  This week is the first week for the Alternate Shot Format (pick your partner). Entry fee is $10. Contact the Golf Shop if you’d like to join the fun. 
 
The Turn House is open daily with snacks, sandwiches and beverages for golfers on the run. Island Joe’s Kentena at Shangri-La Marina is open from 11:00 a.m. six days a week (closed Tuesday). This weekend features three nights and an afternoon of outstanding live music: Boombox RevivalFriday night, Diversity Saturday night, Low Compatibility Sunday night, and Larry Bolton Mondayafternoon.
 
Sports coverage in the Buffalo Bar and at Island Joe’s this week includes the continuing Conference Championship battles in the NBA Playoffs. The OKC Thunder face the Golden State WarriorsThursday night at 8:00 in the West (and Saturday night at 8:00 and Monday night at 8:00, if necessary) – and we’ll have coverage of Toronto-Cleveland battles in the east Friday - and Sunday, if necessary at 7:30 each night.
 
The PGA Tour moves to Fort Worth this weekend for the Dean and Deluca Invitational (formerly The Colonial). We’ll have complete coverage of that, of course, along with the Indianapolis 500 Sundayat noon, and the NACAR Sprint Series Coca Cola 600 Sunday evening at 5:00.
