Outstanding Weekend at Shangri-La

The weekend weather forecast is outstanding – and so are weekend events at Shangri-La. 
 
We are excited to have the Cowan golf group returning to Shangri-La this weekend – and we extend a warm welcome to the Sims Golf Group which will be playing the Shangri-La course for the first time. Friday afternoon is also the “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race (5:00 p.m).  Entry fee is $10. Contact the Golf Shop if you’d like to join the fun.  Sunday afternoon, the Women’s Golf Association sponsors their first Horse Race.  The event is open to all women members for a $10 entry. Contact the Golf Shop to sign up. Monday, the Women’s Golf Association enjoys a regular Play Day.
 
Remember, the Turn House is open daily with snacks, sandwiches and beverages for golfers on the run. Island Joe’s Kentena at Shangri-La Marina is open from 11:00 a.m. six days a week (closedTuesday). This weekend features two nights and a Sunday afternoon of outstanding live music:Mason/Dixon Friday night, Diversity Saturday night, and Low Compatibility Sunday afternoon.
 
Sports coverage in the Buffalo Bar and at Island Joe’s this week includes the Quicken Loans National at the historic Congressional Country Club (Thursday-Sunday), as well as continuing coverage of the College World Series – including the Oklahoma State Cowboys who play their third game Friday afternoon at 2:00.  For tennis fans, coverage of the biggest tennis event of the year – Wimbledon – begins Monday in the Buffalo Bar.
