Patricia Island League Report from Mike Kelly
Playing Golf in the rain. The golf course will play longer because it’s so soft. The good news is that the fairways and greens get softer and more receptive. The fairways and greens become, in effect, wider and bigger, respectively, because your shots don’t bounce into trouble as much. Try not to let the conditions affect your normal routines. The best rain players always take their time and stay patient. Playing in the rain is one thing — playing in lightning is another thing altogether. Don't do it.
There is nothing to report from the Tuesday Night League, because we got rained out.

GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK
One of the oldest tricks in the book to get a player to hit through the ball instead of at the ball:
Visualize a golf ball 3” in front of the actual ball. You can even look at the imaginary ball. Hit the imaginary ball. You will be surprised.

GOLF JOKE of THE WEEK
Oldie but a goodie:
An engineer, a doctor and a priest playing a round of golf. Ahead of them, another group of people plays so slowly and with such ineptitude that the three frustrated men go to the greenskeeper for an explanation. The greenskeeper tells them, "Those are blind firefighters. They lost their sight while saving our clubhouse last year, so they play for free whenever they want." The priest then says, "I will pray for them tonight." The doctor says, "I will ask my ophthalmologist if anything can be done for them." Finally, the engineer says, "Why can't they just play at night?"
HAPPY GOLFIN!
