September Golf Overview

HAPPY SEPTEMBER, GOLFERS!

A GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENT

I am now selling the newest and greatest in range finder equipment. It is reasonably priced at $129. It is called the VC 300. It fits on your golf cap or any flat clip-able surface. It has over 30,000 golf courses. Local courses are included. It includes a charger cable. The best thing it does is tell you (audible) your distance to the middle, front and back of the green IMMEDIATELY.  Contact me to order at stevepace.golf@yahoo.com. After using mine just 3 times in the past week, I am telling you that I will not go golfing without it. I don’t have to “shoot or focus” on anything. I don’t have push a bunch of buttons. I just touch it and it tells me the info I need. It even will tell me how far I hit a shot, which is great for learning your accurate club distances.

Suggestions to improve speed of play - With the days getting shorter, pace of play, can be the difference between completing your round or not.  When sharing a cart, use a buddy system

Don’t wait in the cart while your cart-mate hits and then drive to your ball. Get out and walk to your ball with a few clubs. Be ready to play when it is your turn and then let your cart-mate pick you up. Or, drive to your ball after you drop your cart-mate off and then pick him or her up after you hit.  Be helpful to others in your group Follow the flight of all tee shots, not just your own. Once in the fairway, help others look for their ball if you already know the location of yours. Volunteer to fill in a divot or rake a bunker for another player if needed. Be ready to attend the flagstick for others.  Play ready golf.

Results for August 25th:  Chuck Watson First Place Low Net; PINS AND SKINS  Closest to the Pin-Terry Clark, Linc Bassett 2 Skins, Terry Clark 1 Skin, Chuck Watson 1 Skin.

GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

Fault: Pushes and Slices:

One of my favorites: Imagine a golf ball about an inch or 2 in front of your actual ball.

Swing at the imagined ball, not the actual ball. Another is imagine a string from your back (trailing) shoulder to your back toe (trailing foot); your knee cannot slide past (back) that string line.

GOLF JOKE of THE WEEK

Don’t mess with retired guys                                                                                                                                                    Yesterday I had an appointment to see the urologist for a prostate exam. Of course I was a bit on edge because all of my friends have told me about this experience. The waiting room was filled with patients. As I approached the receptionist’s desk, I noticed that she had a very unfriendly demeanor and to be honest she looked like a Sumo wrestler. I gave her my name. In a very loud voice, the receptionist said “Yes, I have your name right here; you want to see the Doctor about impotence, right?” All of the guys in the waiting room snapped their heads around to stare at me, a now very embarrassed man. But, fortunately I recovered quickly and in an equally loud voice replied: “NO, I’VE COME TO INQUIRE ABOUT A SEX CHANGE OPERATION, BUT I DON’T WANT THE SAME DOCTOR THAT DID YOURS.”

HAPPY GOLFIN !

Steve
