GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

You have two different approach shots: One is a 100% swing and the other is anything less than 100%, called a finesse shot. You want to try to have a 100% shot to the green as often as possible. So, pattern your shots to leave yourself that kind of shot as much as possible. On the other hand, when you have a finesse shot, take note that you have two things that effect. One is the club (loft) that you select and the other is the size of your backswing or the amount of tension created in the backswing. Be aware of your needs based on pin position, distance to pin, slope of green, etc. Remember, you always want the ball down and running to the hole as soon as possible.

Tips For Playing Golf In The Summer Heat:  Stay hydrated. Be sure to drink lots of water, wear sunscreen, choose appropriate clothing, whites and light colored pastels are good choices and keeping clothing a bit loose will keep you comfortable as well. Have a towel. Bringing a towel can help to keep sweat to a minimum and allow you to wipe your hands off so the club doesn’t slip out of your hands. There are cooling towels on the market that can be beneficial if you play often.  Latest Results from the Tuesday Night League: Low Net, Mike Haney; Pins and Skins: Skins were won by Peter Neff (2), Jack Looney and Tracy Bloss.

GOLF JOKE(s) of THE WEEK

This 85-year-old couple, having been married almost 60 years, die tragically in a car crash. They have been in good health the last ten years, mainly due to the wife's nearly neurotic interest in health food. When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion, which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen and master bath suite, complete with Jacuzzi.

As they "oohed and aahed' the old man asked St. Peter how much all this was going to cost.  "It's free," St. Peter replied, "Remember, this is Heaven." Next they went out back to see the championship golf course the home backed up to. They would have golfing privileges every day, and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on Earth. The old man asked, "What are the green fees?" "This is Heaven," St. Peter replied. "You play for free."
Next they went to the clubhouse and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out. "How much to eat?" asked the old man. "Don't you understand yet?" St. Peter asked. "This is Heaven. It's free!"  "Well, where are the low-fat and low-cholesterol foods?" the old man asked timidly. "That's the best part ... you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven."  The old man looked at his wife and said, "You and your dog- gone bran muffins. I could have been here ten years ago!"

HAPPY GOLFIN !

Steve
