Registration Under Way for RNT Cyber Ethics Conference 2018, Oct. 30-31

The responsible use of technology, information and data in today’s increasingly connected world is the focus of the RNT Cyber Ethics Conference 2018.

Hosted by RNT Professional Services, the conference is the first designed to bring diverse industries together to discuss the technological changes emerging in industry today and their ethical implications.

Set for October 30 and 31, the RNT Cyber Ethics Conference 2018 will explore the ethics of cyber security in areas of business, legal, government, healthcare and innovative technologies.

“The RNT Cyber Ethics conference is the first to bring leaders from a multitude of social silos together to discuss collaboratively, across the silos, the challenges of being increasingly interconnected,” said Teresa Rule, president of RNT Professional Services. “As global citizens who take advantage of the ease of this interconnection, comes the responsibility to use technology, information, and data responsibly.”

Business owners, c-suite executives and professionals from legal, technology, business, government and medical organizations are encouraged to attend.

The conference begins with an evening reception on October 29. The three-day event will be held at the Marriott Conference Center of the National Center for Employee Development (NCED) in Norman, Okla.

More than 25 distinguished panelists and speakers, including business leaders, lawyers, CISOs and industry leaders, will be featured at the conference.

Notable speakers include:

  • Jonathan Kimmitt, CISSP, CISM, CISO of the University of Tulsa.
  • Kevin Nally, CIO, U.S. Secret Service.
  • Erfan Ibrahim, PhD, CEO, The Bit Bazaar, LLC.
  • Dr. Rebecca Wynn, DHL, MBA, CRISC, CISSP, CASP, Head of Information Security and DPO, Matrix Medical Network.
  • Seth Jaffe, JD, VP and General Counsel, Leo Cyber Security.
  • Tim Schmoyer, CISSP, Principle Cybersecurity Engineer, MITRE.

Topics to be covered will include biomedical ethics, incident response, liability, privacy and the Internet of Things.

Presentations and topics are designed to fulfill continuing education credits for PMP professionals, legal professionals and information technology specialists. In addition, the Oklahoma Bar Association has approved the conference for 12.5 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) units, with 5.5 CLEs in Ethics. Bar Associations in other states with reciprocity with Oklahoma recognize these CLEs.

The Cyber Ethics Conference will provide certificates of attendance and additional documentation as required for self-reporting.

“In today's fast-paced, technical world, unique ethical issues arise in part because personal and sensitive information may be collected from individuals without their knowledge or consent in so many different ways. It is vital that as we implement Privacy by Design & Default (GDPR - May 25, 2018 onwards) that we also demand Cyber Ethics by Design & Default,” said Dr. Rebecca Wynn, head of information security and date protection officer, senior director, Matrix Medical Network. “It is an honor to be a speaker and panel moderator for the inaugural RNT Cyber Ethics Conference; it is a ground-breaking event. Join me in shaping a more Cyber Ethics by Design & Default world!”
