Rotary Golf Tournament features 22 teams

The annual Rotary Golf Tournament was held on Friday at Patricia Island' Country Club with 22 teams participating.

The annual tournament raises funds for the Grove Rotary Foundation's community giving program. More than 90 sponsors helped support the tournament. Last year the club awarded nearly $98,000 in community grants to 43 organizations in the Grand Lake area.

Among the winners in the Men's Divisions were: Men's Championship, Dale, Van Curen, Shaffer, Sparks; Men's A Flight, Porter, Curley, Housel, Hoover (Vance,'s Quicklane); Men's Closest to Pin, Jamie Perryman; Men's Longest Drive, Kasey Threet.

In the Women's Division, the winners were: Women's Championship, Bray, Barber, Killion, Daggett; Women's Closest to Pin, Heidi Rodgers: Women's Longest Drive, Suzanne Knott.

Applications for grants to be awarded in January are currently open and must be submitted by Nov. 1. Local efforts considered for grants must be initiated by a Rotarian in conjunction with the applying organization and contribute to Rotary's focus on community service.
