Proud of our Veteran Coworkers

As we celebrate Veteran’s Day 2022, the Grand River Dam Authority is once again proud to use this space to recognize all our coworkers, as well as Team GRDA retirees, who previously served in the United States Armed Forces.

Once upon a time, they wore a military uniform and proudly served our country at home and abroad. On ships, in tanks, in the air, and across military bases all around the world, they were dedicated to service and to duty.

Today, they bring that same dedication to their roles at GRDA. They work in our offices, in our power plants, in bucket trucks, in maintenance shops and in hundreds of other roles to help GRDA meet its daily mission for Oklahoma.

In fact, roughly ten percent of the current GRDA workforce is comprised of military veterans. Meanwhile, many GRDA retirees also served in the military before beginning their careers with our organization. Down through the years, the experiences, expertise, and devotion to duty demonstrated by these individuals have helped GRDA serve its ratepayers and the people of the state of Oklahoma for over 80 years.

So, as we pause to celebrate Veteran’s Day 2022, we once again salute our veteran workforce including those with us today and those who are now enjoying retirement. Thank you, Team GRDA!

GRDA is Oklahoma’s largest public power electric utility; fully funded by revenues from electric and water sales instead of taxes. Each day, GRDA strives to be an “Oklahoma agency of excellence” by focusing on the 5 E’s: electricity, economic development, environmental stewardship, employees, and efficiency.
