Announces Temporary Reduction in Services

Hotel, In-Restaurant Dining Closed – Golf, Marina, Take-Out Open

Shangri-La Resort has announced a temporary suspension of the majority of operations including hotel & convention facilities, the Summit Restaurant, spa services, fitness center and in-restaurant dining at Doc’s Bar & Grill. Golf and Marina operations remain open and take-out food service is available from Doc’s Bar & Grill from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily. Full operations are planned to resume on April 6th, 2020, but subject to conditions at that time, according to Shangri-La President & CEO Barry Willingham.

”All businesses and people around the globe are facing a public health threat that has not been seen in our lifetime,” Willingham said. “This international crisis has unfolded by the hour over the last several days, escalating exponentially by the day. Our commitment at Shangri-La has always been to provide our members and guests with the best possible experience available, with safety being the number one priority. In alignment with that commitment, we have made this difficult choice to temporarily suspend the majority of our operations.”

Pizza and other take-out food from a limited menu is available at Doc’s Bar & Grill from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily. The Doc’s Pizza menu and “To Go” menu is available on the Shangri-La app and on the website at www.shangrilaok.com.

“To Go” orders must be placed by phone (918-257-7777) prior to pick up. Access to the hotel and Doc’s will be through the front entrance of the hotel only. All pick up orders must be made through the front door of the hotel.

“Isolation is the only known prevention and response to this virus, forcing us to make this difficult, but a responsible decision,” said Willingham. “We will be providing financial stability to our staff through this event, so we will be in a position to provide premier service with excellent staff when business gets back to normal – hopefully on April 6, 2020.

“We thank all our members and guests for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate through these uncharted waters,” Willingham added. “We are all confident that with a collaborative spirit, we will all get through this difficult period together.”
