Call For Calf Fry Cooking Teams & Vendors

Vinita, OK – The Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to be part of the 40th Annual World’s Largest Calf Fry Festival & Cook-Off scheduled for Saturday, June 1, at the Craig County Fairgrounds and Community Center from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Calf Fry Cook-Off 2:00 to 5:00 PM then awards start at 6:30 Ragland Band 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm inside the Vinita Hall Community Center. This is a family-friendly dance bring the kids and everyone have a Ball!

The World’s Largest Calf Fry Festival & Cook-Off is like a BBQ competition. But the main course is, well, bull testicles. Cooking teams will be provided with 50 pounds of the famous cowboy cuisine to prepared using their own secret recipes. The culinary creation to receive the most votes will receive trophies and bragging
rights. Teams may also compete for the best beans, bread, and cobblers.

The cost to enter as a cooking team is $100. The fee includes 50 pounds of calf fries, serving cups, and enter to the festival for the team. It wouldn’t be a festival without vendors. All booths are 10 feet by 10 feet. The price to be a food vendor is $75, commercial vendors are $50, handmade arts and craft vendors are $25, and nonprofits are free. Admission for the Calf Fry is $10.00 at the gate Family pass for 2 adults and 4 Children above the age of 6 for $50.00. Gates will be open from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission price covers tasting kits - including calf fries, beans, bread, and cobblers until they’re gone several kids activities as well as the ever-popular
inflatables. We will be having the turtle races and best-dressed turtle(bring your own turtle), as well as a stick horse barrel race (bring your own stick horse Or stick) several other kids activities courtesy of First Baptist Church. This year admission will also cover admission to come to the dance after the cook-off. The band will start at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and be a family event bring the kids and enjoy the sounds of Ragland (check them out on facebook). Cooking team awards will be at 6:30 pm with the Belle of the Ball and Good ole’ Boy during band first intermission.
