GHS Interact Club to Host Fourth Annual Halloween Hustle 5K Run and Fun Walk

Grove, Okla – Students from the Interact Club at Grove High School will host their fourth annual Halloween Hustle 5K Run and Fun Walk Saturday, Oct. 22 with registration starting at 7 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. race start time. The Halloween Hustle will start in the parking lot of the Shundi Professional Center located at 1103 E. 13 Street in Grove directly across from the tennis courts, and the course will wind through the Olympus Cemetery. Participants are encouraged to arrive in costume. Registration is $25 and can be done online at groveinteract.weebly.com or the night of the event as well as the following locations: Arvest Bank, Grand Savings Bank, Lippit Insurance Agency, Bank of Grove or Grove High School. The first 75 who register will receive a free tee shirt.

Interact is a club for young people between the ages of 12-18 who want to join together to address issues in their community. 

According to the organization’s website, each Interact chapter must work on two service projects per year: one that helps the chapter’s local school or community and another project that promotes international understanding. All proceeds from the Halloween Hustle directly benefit the GHS Interact Club and their local project to fund Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the Grove community as well as the club’s international service project.

“Members of Interact enjoy giving back to our community,” said Macey Middleton, Interact president. “One of our favorite projects is our angel tree program. Our club members look forward to shopping for children in need who otherwise might not get anything during Christmas.”

Members of the Interact Club are dedicated to improving lives locally and internationally by promoting humanitarian service, goodwill, and high ethical standards.
