Grand Lake Casino is stepping up the bass fishing competition on Grand Lake with a two-day bass fishing tournament open to all contestants age 18 and over. Set for October 29-30, the “Big Bass Cash Tournament” allows bass anglers, no matter their skill level, to compete in a well-organized tournament with all-cash paybacks. The tournament will feature more than $60,000 in cash and prizes with all tournament participants being entered to a drawing for the Grand Prize - a fully rigged Z175 Ranger Bass Boat.

“This tournament is a way for us to expand the bass tournament market while bringing more and more tourists to the Grand Lake area to support our local businesses,” said Grand Lake Casino General Manager Dusty Logan. “If we can expand the reach of a popular sport while expanding the economic growth of the Grand Lake community, it’s a win-win situation,” he said.

Early entrants can double their chances at winning the Grand Prize. All two-day entries received by October 17, 2016 will receive double entries (four per entry) into the drawing for the Ranger Bass Boat. In addition to the Grand Prize, Logan said there will be 80 guaranteed hourly payouts totaling $27,800! You may register on line by clicking on the “Register Online Website” tab at www.bigbasscash.com. Entrants are encouraged to prepay utilizing Pay Pal on the tournament website.

All contestants must check in at Grand Lake Casino between 3:00 and 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28 for information on weigh-in locations and entry into the drawing for great prizes – including the Ranger bass boat. Entry fees are $150 for single day entries – or $200 for a two-day entry.

First cast will be the next morning, Saturday, October 29, at 7:00 a.m. Boats must be off the water by 6:00 p.m. – and the first day’s hourly payouts will be awarded beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Grand Lake Casino. Sunday’s schedule also includes a 7:00 a.m. “first cast,” with the final awards ceremony and grand prize drawing set to begin at 5:00 p.m. at Grand Lake Casino.

“This is a new and exciting event for Grand Lake Casino to sponsor,” according to General Manager Dusty Logan. “Grand Lake is well known as one of the most popular bass fishing lakes in America, but we hope the Big Bass Cash Tournament will expand the sport even further and bring more new anglers to our lake by making great prizes available to all fishermen, regardless of their skill level.

We timed this event to do our part to extend and expand the Grand Lake season,” Logan said. “Every event outside the parameters of the traditional lake season helps our business community draw closer to the goal of making Grand Lake a year-round destination,” he said. “That is a goal every Grand Lake business should share.”

For contestants who would like to increase their chances for winning prize drawings in the Big Bass Cash Tournament, early entries must be received on or before October 16, 2016. Enter at www.bigbasscash.com.
