Grove Rotary Ninth Annual LobsterFest Fundraiser Nets $119,000 for Foundation

Another Successful LobsterFest
This was a banner year for the Grove Rotary's popular fundraising event, LobsterFest. The ninth annual event raised $119,000, which will be distributed back to the Grand Lake community through its Charitable Giving Grants program and the Rotary Scholarship program. If there seemed to be a hint of salt in the air in Grove Friday, June 15, it had everything to do with the Grove Rotary’s ninth annual LobsterFest.

Lobsters, flown in live from Maine and cooked onsite at the Grove Civic Center, were the main attraction during the popular fundraising event.

“This is our most successful year since this event began in 2010,” said Grove Rotary Past-President Judy McHenry. “We raised $119,000 this year at LobsterFest. There were 550 people in attendance and we cooked 400 lobsters on site!”

The 550 people who turned out to enjoy the lobster dinners, which included clams, an egg and corn on the cob, were also there to support a good cause.

LobsterFest is a fundraiser for the Grove Rotary. All proceeds from LobsterFest are distributed back into the Grand Lake community through Grove Rotary’s Charitable Contributions Program and the Scholarship Program.

According to McHenry, grant applications will start be accepted in November 2018. Those interested in applying should keep an eye on the Grove Rotary website — www.groverotary.org — for the announcement when applications are being accepted.
