Arts and crafts of all kinds will be on display and for sale at the 2023 Art in the Garden show on Saturday, May 6, at Lendonwood Gardens in Grove. The public is invited to enjoy the artworks on view at the botanical garden located at 1308 Har-Ber Road.

Admission is free for this special event at Lendonwood. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., booths throughout the garden will display a wide variety of works by area artists, ranging from hand-made jewelry to pottery to paintings. Artists will include professionals as well as young students and accomplished craftspeople.

Refreshments also will be available for purchase from Santa’s Old Broads, a local service organization that raises funds for Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children.

“It’s always a pleasure to feature the works of talented artists and artisans in our area,” said Stan Starts, Lendonwood board member who is the event coordinator. “This is a great chance to enjoy the arts and experience a beautiful garden at the same time.”

Lendonwood is home to several botanical collections of peonies, hostas, dogwoods, daylilies, azaleas and rhododendrons. Currently, the garden is ablaze with colorful Japanese maples along the winding pathways. Visitors also enjoy the Koi pond, Japanese Pavilion, Oklahoma Garden, Monarch Waystation, and the Angel of Hope statue.

Lendonwood is open year-round during daylight hours. The Welcome Center and Gift Shop is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. In addition to local arts and crafts, the Gift Shop also offers plants for sale from the garden.

The eight-acre garden is operated by a local board of directors with the help of volunteers.
