Vinita Celebrating 31st Annual Oktoberfest Saturday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church

The Holy Ghost Catholic Church invites you to come celebrate a day of communal fellowship and family fun as the parish hosts its 31st annual Oktoberfest of Vinita Saturday, Oct. 14.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oktoberfest 2017 promises to be a day filled with music, food, beer and fun, all with a German flair.

The day-long live entertainment includes a morning dance with Jr Hefly and Band, opening ceremonies and keg tapping, music with Austin and Mikayla, Gym Dandies, the Vinita High School Blue Notes, the Vinita High School band, music with Brittany and Joey, a cake walk and karaoke.

There will be plenty for every member of the family to do, including pony rides, mechanical bull, petting zoo, two kids’ zones, horseshoe tournament, photo booth, games and inflatables.

There will also be arts and crafts vendors, pumpkin painting, a silent auction featuring items and donations from across the county and a raffle Drawing for the raffle will be at 4 p.m. The VHS cheerleaders will be painting faces during the festivities.

Family Zumba will be held at 10:15 a.m. next to the kids’ tent. Everyone is invited to join in on the fun.

Three big screen televisions will be set up in the Oktoberfest biergarten so festival-goers don’t have to miss out on the OU - Texas football game while enjoying the festivities.

The German American Society of Tulsa dancers will be performing at 1:30 p.m. in the entertainment tent.

You won’t go hungry at Oktoberfest. In addition to German food, you’ll find Mexican food, turkey legs, nachos, cakes, pies, cookies, fish and hushpuppies, funnel cakes, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, kettle corn and Asian food.

Oktoberfest will also include a special appearance by 2017 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Princess.

The Craig County Cruisers will be holding its Route 66 Car Show across the street in North Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Stained glass window tours will be offered at 1 and 3 p.m.

Reverse Reaction will be the evening entertainment at the 31st annual Oktoberfest of Vinita. The band will play from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oktoberfest Dance.

Oktoberfest is a mission of hospitality hosted by the Holy Ghost parish and made possible by community support.

The Holy Ghost Catholic Church is located at 120 W. Sequoyah Ave., in Vinita.
