Lobsterfest Canceled

Lobsters Ordered to Shelter in Place

Grove Rotary’s annual June fundraising campaign, Lobsterfest, is being impacted by COVID-19. Instead, Grove Rotary Club is launching a new program to help meet the needs of local nonprofits and education groups as well as those impacted by COVID-19.

Instead of Lobsterfest, the Club is having a virtual fundraiser called #StrongerTogetherGrove. There are many parts to this campaign including signs throughout the community, recognition of some of our area’s Frontline Heroes and a special grant program open to local nonprofits in need.

All funds raised will be used in the Grand Lake Community and there are no administrative costs.

While the Club had to cancel the event, Rotary’s commitment to our community has not changed. Our goal is to raise $100,000 for our grants budget and special grant cycle to help community agencies impacted by COIVD-19.

The club is asking area residents to consider donating to this cause online via the StrongerTogetherGrove site at https://donate.onecause.com/strongertogethergrove. Checks can be mailed to the Rotary Foundation:  GRF, PO Box 452286, Grove, OK 74345-2286. Or you can call 918-707-0821 to make a credit or debit card pledge.

Each year the Grove Rotary Club provides over $130,000 in donations to groups and students throughout the community. Rotary knows that many area residents want to help those in need and this is a great way to save the lobsters and provide needed support for our community. Donations are tax-deductible. #StrongerTogetherGrove
