Rotary Launches New Program

Grove Rotary launches #StrongerTogetherGrove

Grove Rotary’s annual June fundraising campaign, Lobsterfest, is being impacted by COVID-19. Instead, Grove Rotary Club is launching a new program to help meet the needs of local nonprofits and education groups as well as those impacted by COVID-19.

Many people, businesses and non-profit organizations have been struggling during these challenging times. Out of these hard times, however, we’ve seen our community come together stronger than ever to help each other out.

The multifaceted program called #StrongerTogetherGrove is designed to recognize and support our local heroes who are working, donating and serving during this time.

Each year the Grove Rotary Club provides over $130,000 in donations to groups and students throughout the community. In 2019, Rotary gave away over $170,000 in total.

#StrongerTogetherGrove will be a community campaign including a web site, Facebook and Instagram postings to provide recognition and honoring those who are working and serving. There will signs throughout the community saluting individual local heroes, special luncheons and gifts to area residents, as well as raising money so that the Rotary Club can provide assistance for local needs.

Rotary President Carol LaRue said, "While we don't know exactly what the exact needs will be, there is no doubt going to be a lot of unmet needs. Many of our local nonprofits that are providing the most assistance during this time, are not able to raise funds for this additional service. We are providing a structure to recognize our local heroes as well as a structure for individuals and businesses to join together and provide a financial resource for those groups."

Signs are already appearing in the community including ones at Integris Hospital, Grove Nursing Center and the YMCA which is providing childcare services.

Please visit our Facebook Page, Grove Rotary and find us on Instagram at #strongertogethergrove. The web site address is www.groverotary.org.

A salute to the workers at the Grove Nursing Center who go to work every day to help meet the need of those living at the facility.

These signs support the staff of the Grove Integris Hospital including the many support staff, volunteers as well as the doctors and nurses.

Without the structure of school, the Grove YMCA's Childcare program takes on an even bigger role. The staff has devised ways for safely structure activities and programs for area children while their parents work as essential employees.
