Affordable Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic Every Wednesday at Second Chance Pet Rescue
Do you want your family pet to live a happier, healthier, longer life and help prevent unwanted litters and pet suffering?  Spay/neuter surgery is peace of mind for both pets and their people.

Pet overpopulation in Oklahoma is a very serious problem.  Did you know that one female dog and one male dog and their offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years?  That's right. . . 1 + 1 = 67,000.  Cats are even more prolific!  More than 60 percent of pets born become unwanted and will be abandoned or end up in city pounds or shelters or even research labs.

Every Wednesday, our non-profit animal welfare organization offers a spay/neuter clinic to the public where we transport animals to a licensed veterinary clinic for surgery.  Additionally, through a grant provided by PetSmart Charities, families with a household income of $25,000 or less, spay/neuter surgeries are available at $10 each for up to 5 family pets.  Appointments for surgery must be made in advance as there are limited slots available every Wednesday.  .

For more information about the Wednesday spay/neuter clinic and the cost, contact the shelter at 918-786-7630 during office hours:  Wednesday-Friday Noon to 5 pm; Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.  Shelter is closed Sunday-Tuesday.

Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake animal shelter takes in hundreds of unwanted and abandoned dogs/puppies and cats/kittens every year.  Did you know that we also rescue the stray dogs from the City of Grove Animal Shelter to eliminate euthanasia of these animals?  But there is limited space at our shelter in which to care for them.  We continue to spend our shelter's hard earned money and resources to transport these wonderful, unwanted dogs and some cats to out-of-state shelters where they are immediately adopted into loving homes.  It costs about $100 per animal for vet examination and health certificate, required vaccinations, and transport expenses.

People in our communities cannot afford to NOT spay and neuter the family pets.  It prevents thousands more unwanted litters.  Please be a responsible pet owner as Second Chance Pet Rescue is here to help you.  You can also help us by mailing a tax-deductible donation to P.O. Box 451205, Grove, OK  74345 or donate electronically via its website www.doitforthepets.com.  Follow us on our website and Facebook.com to see pictures of some available dogs and cats and to follow what is happening at Second Chance Pet Rescue.
