Barkaritaville and Cars for Critters - Two Benefits for SC Pet Rescue
On Saturday, August 19th, Second Chance Pet Rescue volunteers will be hosting two important fund raisers to raise money for its non-profit animal rescue.
Enjoy the 6th Annual Cars for Critters Indoor Car show at the Grove Civic Center from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be plenty of American Classic and European Exotic cars for the family to enjoy indoors while the August temperatures soar outside. The car show is great family fun for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Admission is Free. There will be food, oldies music, raffles, and door prizes. Also, there will be a dog adoption showcasing several of our special shelter dogs wanting their forever family.
If you are interested in showing off your classic car, hot rod, truck, or special interest car, all are welcome. Car show registration will be at the Grove Civic Center on Friday evening, August 18, after 4 pm (cars may be left inside Civic Center overnight); and on Saturday morning, August 19, from 7-11 am. Pre-registration car entry fee is $15; Saturday registration car entry fee is $20. Trophies awarded for "Best of Show", "People's Choice", and awards for the top 20 models in categories 1985 and older and 1986 and newer.
And later that evening, plan to join the Barkaritaville party. It's a summer evening party with dinner, live music, and a charity auction at Honey Creek Landing (next to Honey Creek Bridge) from 6-10 pm. The event will be catered by The Parrot Steakhouse and Grill. Tickets are $40 per person and may be purchased online atwww.doitforthepets.com, the Second Chance Thrift Shop (220 E. 3rd Street), The Parrot Steakhouse, or call Theresa Swift at 918-964-0088. Reserved tables for 8 or more friends can be made by contacting Mrs. Swift.
