Community Sponsorship Challenge
ARE YOU UP FOR A CHALLENGE?
This month, Second Chance Pet Rescue challenges the community to help us reach our goal of having every pet in the shelter sponsored.
Sponsorship are critical to the continued success and sustainability of the shelter.
In 2017, our shelter took in 501 pets. In 2018, that number climbed to 655 pets. In 2019, the number catapulted to 1192. We never want to turn a pet in need away; but we cannot continue to financially provide for the increasing numbers of those pets without your support.
Each animal that enters our shelter receives an intake exam which includes all basic initial vaccines, deworming, flea treatment and dogs receive heartworm tests and preventative. Before the pet is adopted, he or she will be altered and receive a rabies vaccine from the veterinarian. The small intake fee of $25 doesn't come close to covering the cost of care we provide even on the very first day the pet is with us, yet once an animal comes through our door, we commit to caring for them until the perfect home can be found.
It's only $75 to sponsor a pet of your choice for one month. The sponsorship donation helps us cover the costs of daily care and you get to play a direct role in helping us continue to save more loves.
