Second Chance Pet Rescue Senior Pets for Seniors Adoptions

Second Chance Pet Rescue Senior Pets for Seniors Adoptions
"Senior Pets for Seniors" adoption program at Second Chance Pet Rescue is all about senior humans discovering the joys of having a dog or cat in their lives.  This program places our senior cats and dogs with senior citizens who are 62 years of age or older.  Because it is so important to us for our senior pets to find that right home and not languish in the shelter, the adoption fee will be waived, yes WAIVED, for our weekly featured Senior Pet.

This week, meet Mulligan, as our featured senior pet.  Mulligan is house trained and walks on a leash.  He may have a little jiggle in his walk, but he has a smile for everyone he meets.  He has lived at the shelter for some time now and deserves to be inside a loving home that will care for him.  He may be considered mature with a few gray whiskers, but he still has enough bounce in his step to make a perfect companion.

Benefits of seniors adopting a senior pet such as Mulligan are:
  • Companion animals can help improve your physical and mental health.  By adopting an animal friend, you can experience the benefits of lowered stress levels and blood pressure, and it has proven to reduce depression.
  • Senior animals are often gentler and make calmer companionship.
  • The quiet and loving home of a senior citizen is the perfect match for an older animal looking for a new home.

Contact Second Chance Pet Rescue at 918-786-7630 or email hsgrove@att.net if interested in opening up your home and your heart to adopt Mulligan or learning more about our "Senior Pets for Seniors" adoption campaign.
