We are kicking of the month of August with a busy weekend at Shangri-La! We’ll start the weekend on the golf course with the Thursday Night Scramble at 5:00 and, of course, the Thursday Night “Cave Karaoke and Shrimp Boil” on Doc’s Patio. Come enjoy Chef Mike’s awesome shrimp and andouille – and the fabulous karaoke fun with the talented Jason Morgan!

Saturday afternoon, Wine Club Members are invited to a relaxing “Wine Mingle” from 3:00-6:00 in the main foyer of the club house. Enjoy great hors d’ oeuvres and some fantastic wines. If you are a Wine Club Member and know someone who might like to be a part of this outstanding group, bring them along. We have two lockers available to members who would like to join the Wine Club.

Saturday at 5:00, the golf staff will host one of our wackiest events. Dock Shots competition begins at 5:00. If you don’t know about Dock Shots, contact the Golf Shop. It’s too much fun! Saturday night at Eddy’s, The Hitmen will entertain. Eddy’s is open Friday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until midnight, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, we welcome the PGA Oakley Cup competition to the course and, if that’s not enough – it’s “Run a Monkey Tournament” weekend at Shangri-La!

Monday, the SLWGA ladies will be on the course for the final day of their annual Eclectic Tournament. Monday is also a “Golf Course Fishing” day (8:30-10:00 a.m.). There’s a “Junior Golf Small Group Clinic” scheduled for Tuesday, followed by a “Junior Play Day” Wednesday.

SUNDAY BRUNCH AT DOC’S!

Sunday Brunch at Doc’s is open to the general public; and brunch specials are priced between $13-$15. The regular menu is available, but this week’s special Sunday Brunch offerings include Cubano Benedict, a Buffalo Breakfast Sandwich, Sunshine Pancakes, Creole Macaroni & Cheese, and Philly Tots.

Remember, too, that Doc’s Bar & Grill offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
