Big Weekend at Shangri-La

The weather looks great this weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s one of the biggest weekends of the Fall at Shangri-La, including Saturday night’s Fall Member and Slip Renter Party honoring all Shangri-La members and slip renters at Shangri-La Marina.  The food, drinks, and great music by Kyle Williams are on us.  Party time is 5:00-9:00 Saturday night. The Summit Restaurant and Buffalo Bar will be open, but we strongly recommend reservations if you plan to have dinner in the Summit.
 
Saturday is also a big day on the golf course – the Men’s Golf Association Championship Tournament! The Wren Golf Group and the Franklin Golf Group are also visiting Shangri-La for a weekend of golf – and the Women’s Golf Association will be on the course for their regular Play Dayon Monday (Three Clubs and Your Putter).
 
There is plenty happening on the sports screens in the Buffalo Bar. Tiger Woods was initially scheduled to return to the PGA Tour this week, but he has since removed his name from the roster for the Safeway Open. We’ll have coverage nonetheless, Thursday-Sunday. We’ll also have daily coverage of the Major League Championship series as well as a full slate of NFL action.
 
NFL action begins Thursday night with a good one – Denver at San Diego. Sunday games include Philadelphia at Washington, Baltimore at the NY Giants, Dallas at Green Bay and Sunday night action featuring Indianapolis at Houston. Monday Night Football spotlights the NY Jets at Arizona.
 
College action kicks off Thursday night with Navy at East Carolina. Friday night, Louisville hosts Duke. Saturday college football highlights include Kansas State at OU, Ole Miss at Arkansas, Tulsa at Houston, Kansas at Baylor, Alabama at Tennessee, Stanford at Notre Dame and Ohio State at Wisconsin.

Remember the Summit Restaurant is open for dinner service Thursday-Monday and lunch service on Tuesday. In addition to the Summit Restaurant and Buffalo Bar, the Turn House is also open daily with snacks, sandwiches and beverages for golfers on the run.
 
Sail Grand remains open for boat and personal watercraft rentals, parasailing and yacht charters out of Shangri-La Marina.  Reservations are a must. Call 918-257-6000. It looks like a beautiful weekend ahead.  We hope you will spend some of it with us at Shangri-La.
