Upcoming Events at Shangri-La August 9-15, 2018
Shangri-La golfers have a busy week. The ladies’ Green Country Interclub team travels to Indian Springs Thursday to take on the Hillcrest Country Club team from Bartlesville. Our weekly “Yellow Rabbit Run” horse race is Friday afternoon at 5:00 (sign up in the Golf Shop); and Saturday is the Men’s Golf Association Four-Ball Tournament (8:00 a.m. shotgun). Monday, the SLWGA ladies will be back home for the big Grand Lady Tournament; and the Home of Hope Special Olympics golf team will also be on the course Monday afternoon. By the way, if you haven’t already signed up for the Mary Moore Charity Tournament and Auction festivities, time is running out. We will host that great annual event a week from Friday (August 17).
The Shangri-La sales and marketing teams will be traveling to Tulsa Saturday to participate in the University of Tulsa Fan Fest. At the resort this week, we welcome KMT Waterjet Systems, Ford Motor Company (FDAF), Kappa Sigma and Farm Credit.
We have a great band at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar Saturday night. 5th Element will perform from 8:00-11:00 Saturday night. Enjoy!
Golf fans will undoubtedly be crowded around the sports screens in the Buffalo Bar, Doc’s and Eddy’s this weekend for another big weekend on the PGA Tour. The PGA Championship is in St. Louis this weekend. NFL preseason action gets underway this week, as well – and Doc’s is always a popular place to catch your favorite sporting events.
Chef Mike and his culinary crew also have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00) and, as another option, Doc’s Bar & Grill now offers a weekend Breakfast Buffet from 7:00 a.m.-Noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Choose from a Continental Breakfast or a Full Buffet.
Doc’s Bar & Grill is open daily for three meals, and now offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
