Upcoming Events at Shangri-La October 11-17, 2018

Friday afternoon horse races are over for the year, but we have some outstanding group golf play over the weekend and Monday morning, the ladies will be on the course for the regular SLWGA Play Day. 18-holers will play a Low Putts format while the 9-holers will tee off from the 150 marker. The Home of Hope Golf Team, which plays out of Shangri-La Golf Club, will be at Tulsa’s Mohawk Park for their year-end tournament competition Monday. We wish them the very best! Congratulations on a great year for the Home of Hope squad. We’ll see you in March!

New Operating Schedules Upcoming for Doc’s and the Summit!

In order to ensure top-quality food and beverages and attentive service for our members and guests with a smaller off-season staff, once Daylight Saving Time ends, Shangri-La Resort will implement some operating and scheduling changes for Doc’s Bar & Grill and The Summit Restaurant effective Monday, November 5, 2018.

Beginning on that date we will offer seven-day-a-week breakfast and lunch service at Doc’s Bar & Grill and seven-day-a-week dinner service for members and hotel guests at The Summit Restaurant. We will also expand the Summit dinner menu significantly to offer a wider variety of choices. The seven-day-a-week dinner service at The Summit should also be of benefit to members as they make their dining plans to meet off-season food minimums. This change for the off-season ensures that we still accommodate our members and guests three meals a day with the quality of food and service you expect.

Beginning Monday, November 5, Doc’s Bar & Grill will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. seven days a week. The Summit Restaurant will be open from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

We are hosting a great group of guests at the resort this week including the Oklahoma Homebuilders Association, the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, First National Bank of Broken Arrow, the EEI/ABS Golf Group, the Coon & Possum Club Tournament, Southern Hills Country Club, Empirical Loss Management, the National Waste & Recycling Association, Kirkpatrick Bank, the Langlois/Huffman Wedding, and the Sisco/Dirkswager Wedding Reception..

Chef Mike and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). This week’s menu choices include Classic Eggs Benedict, B.L.A.S.T. (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Swiss, and Tomato on Italian Loaf), Butter Pecan Pancakes, and a Philly Cheese Steak Omelet. In addition to a great menu, we also offer a great selection of brunch libations. Ask about our Café Cocktails. If you prefer, there’s also always a great breakfast menu at Doc’s.

Doc’s Bar & Grill is Grand Lake’s favorite spot for watching sporting events. We’ll have all your favorite sports action again this week, including PGA golf, the Tulsa-South Florida and OSU-Kansas State games, Major League Baseball playoff games, NASCAR racing, and NFL action, as well as the season-opening OKC Thunder game.  

Until November 5, Doc’s is open daily for three meals, and also offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
