Popular raft-up coves

• Duck Creek (Monkey Island)
  The classic. Big sandy bottom, party crowd.
• Horse Creek
  Quieter cove between Grove and Monkey Island.
• Drowning Creek
  Deep water, cliffs on the north side.
• Elk River arm
  Long, protected water — great for skiing early morning.
• Sailboat Bridges area
  Central to everything, but current can be strong.

Anchoring tips

Grand Lake bottom is mostly rock and hard clay — set two anchors (bow and stern) in a raft-up to keep boats from swinging into each other. Never tie to standing timber or private docks.
